The mortar lines on the concrete block exterior walls of the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple are disappearing as workers plaster the surface. A moisture barrier is being attached to the eaves along the roofline.

Plastering Steeple and Entry at Kinshasa DRC Temple
Progress continues on the covered entry and steeple of the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple where workers have attached a wire mesh and begun the work of plastering. The temple will be painted white, setting is apart from the adjoining earth-toned meetinghouse.

Scaffolding has appeared around the steeple framework for the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple as laborers clad the structure in stone. The steeple will be colored white and topped with a finial to serve as the focal point for the building. The temple shares land with an operating stake center and institute and seminary building.

Brick layers have finished cladding the exterior of the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple, which will later be plastered white. Crews continue to add purlins to the roof trusses and to strengthen the connecting plates. The grounds are to feature large palm trees.

The First Presidency has announced the date for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple as Friday, February 12, 2016. Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the event.
