Curbing and Parking at the Concepción Chile TempleAs installers finalize the stone cladding at the Concepción Chile Temple, concrete crews are pouring curbing and parking surfaces around the building. Inside, craftsmen are installing ornate woodwork including crown moldings, window trims, door casings, and wainscoting.

Floodlighting Illuminates Concepción Temple TowerExterior floodlighting at the Concepción Chile Temple lit the building's distinguished tower on Sunday night. The angel Moroni statue is on site awaiting installation. Exterior cladding has been completed on the west side of the temple, leaving just the east central wall to be covered in stone.

The white stone is a reflection of the temple's holy status as the House of the Lord.

Cladding Begins Around Base of Tower for the Concepción Chile TempleThe first façade panel for the tower of the Concepción Chile Temple was set in place this week. The glass fiber reinforced concrete is lightweight but durable, allowing for highly detailed ornamental concrete. Cladding of the north wall is nearly finished.

Construction Update on the Concepción Chile TempleAs exterior cladding continues on the north side of the Concepción Chile Temple, attachment of the waterproofing membrane has wrapped around the east (or front) side of the temple. On the west side of the building, early landscaping has begun with the planting of palm trees. And near the driveway entrance, concrete has been poured for the monument sign holder.

Scaffolding Erected Along North Wall of Concepción TempleWork has begun on attaching precast concrete cladding to the exterior of the Concepción Chile Temple. Workers started along the base of the north wall where scaffolding has been erected. The first panels of stone are located just below the scaffolding plank.

Concepción Chile Temple Entrance Feature The main landscaping feature on the east side of the Concepción Chile Temple, has been added directly across from the main entrance doors. The shape is similar to a Spanish floor tile—square with rounded edges. A bright-colored building wrap covers the entire north side of the temple.

Cupola Assembly Added to Concepción Steeple FrameworkThe Concepción Chile Temple stands a little taller with the addition of the domed-shaped cupola assembly to the top of the steel framework for the steeple. Laborers continue to apply a building wrap to the north side of the temple while the grounds take shape with new concrete pours.

Guard House Going Up at Concepción Chile TempleConcrete exterior walls have been poured for the guard house that stands at the entrance to the Concepción Chile Temple complex. Scaffolding surrounds the steeple framework, which will be faced with stone and topped with a dome-shaped cupola that will support the angel Moroni statue.

Workers Apply Building Wrap to Concepción Chile TempleOn the north side of the Concepción Chile Temple, workers can be seen applying a strip of bright aqua-colored building wrap to the concrete exterior walls. Additional framing has also been added to the top of the temple, which will produce a sloped roof that will easily shed water.

One Year After Concepción Chile Temple GroundbreakingYesterday was the one-year anniversary of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Concepción Chile Temple. The concrete exterior walls for the temple have been erected, and work continues on assembling the steel framework for the steeple. It is the second temple to be constructed in Chile.

Chilean Newspaper Indicates Sale of Concepción Chile Temple SiteReporters for Diario El Sur indicate a site has been acquired by the Church for the construction of the Concepción Chile Temple in Quinta Junge—a modern residential development in a beautifully forested area on the Biobío River. An apartment building on site had been under construction.
