Temple Milestones in 2017
During 2017, four temples were dedicated in Paris, France; Tucson, Arizona; Meridian, Idaho; and Cedar City, Utah; with a rededication in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ground was broken for three temples in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Arequipa, Peru; and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At General Conference in April, President Monson announced five temples.

Paris France Temple Becomes 156th Operating Temple
President Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency dedicated the Paris France Temple today, making it the 156th operating temple of the Church. It is a long-anticipated temple and the first to be constructed in mainland France.

Paris France Temple to Be Dedicated on Sunday
A total of 47,561 visitors toured the beautiful Paris France Temple during its three-week public open house, which concluded on Saturday, May 13, 2017. A youth cultural celebration will be held this Saturday, May 20, 2017, followed by the dedication of the temple on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Cutaway Model of Paris France Temple Featured in Visitors' Center
After the open house concludes for the Paris France Temple this Saturday, the public will still have the opportunity to glimpse inside the building by way of a intricately detailed cutaway model prominently displayed in the visitors' center. The center also features a breathtaking stained-glass window depicting the Lord, Jesus Christ.

A new virtual tour has been produced that offers panoramic views of the Paris France Temple grounds from various locations throughout the property. The temple opens for tours to the general public beginning this Saturday, April 22, 2017.

The public is invited to tour the new Paris France Temple from Saturday, April 22, 2017, through Saturday, May 13, 2017, except for Sundays. If you are unable to attend the open house in person, you can take a virtual tour of the interior.

Water Features Operating at the Paris France Temple
Illuminated streams of water dance off the liquid surface of the north water feature located in the beautiful garden plaza of the Paris France Temple. A reproduction of the Christus statue has also been placed in the plaza as a permanent fixture for visitors and patrons of the temple.

Landscaping efforts at the Paris France Temple have progressed from the interior courtyard to in front of the visitor's center wing where new trees and flowers have been planted. The wing will serve as an entrance to the gardens in the courtyard, which will be open for public enjoyment.

Following an extensive asbestos removal process, the buildings that once stood on the Paris France Temple site—formerly occupied by Électricité de France—have been demolished. Crews are working to remove the remnants of the buildings including the concrete foundations.

Le Parisien reports that the building permit for the Paris France Temple has been approved for the site formerly occupied by Électricité de France on Boulevard Saint-Antoine in Le Chesnay. The existing buildings will be razed to make way for the temple and a housing facility.

A recent news article in Le Parisien indicates the Church has successfully acquired its intended site for the Paris France Temple on Boulevard Saint-Antoine in the suburb of Le Chesnay. The building permit has been filed and is expected to receive approval in the coming weeks.

French Media Reports Mormon Temple; Church Issues Statement
President Thomas S. Monson said in a statement today that the Church hopes to build its first temple in France on property on the outskirts of Paris. Temples are customarily announced in General Conference, but French newspaper reports prompted today's announcement.
