Structural Framing Erected for Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple Over the past two months, crews have been hard at work at the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple erecting structural steel to form the sturdy skeleton of the building and its steeple. Workers will focus next on the roof and starting the long process of cladding the exterior walls.

Satellite View of the Port-au-Prince Haiti TempleAn orbiting satellite captured progress at the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple early last month when the concrete floor slabs were poured for both the temple and the temple president's residence. Currently, the contractor is working on building the temple's superstructure.

Concrete Work at the Port-au-Prince Haiti TempleConcrete crews worked into the night this week at the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple pouring the floor slab for the main level. In the coming weeks, the exterior walls and structural framing for the temple will rise. Construction began just over three months ago.

Construction of Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple Moving AheadThe construction team at the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple has set up trailers and is preparing the site for the temple footings and foundation. In addition to rough grading, the site has been staked, and excavation is underway. The temple will stand behind the chapel on Route de Freres.

Preparing for Groundbreaking in Port-au-Prince, HaitiIn just three months the groundbreaking ceremony for the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple will be held, marking the formal commencement of construction. Heavy equipment is on site (behind the Route de Freres chapel) as ground is cleared and prepared for services.

Groundbreaking Announced for Port-au-Prince Haiti TempleOn Saturday, October 28, 2017, Elder Walter F. González of the Seventy and president of the Caribbean Area will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple. Services are to be transmitted by internet to meetinghouses within the proposed temple district.
"Therefore let the Saints be diligent in building the Temple, and all houses which they have been, or shall hereafter be, commanded of God to build; and wait their time with patience in all meekness, faith, perseverance unto the end."
