Backfilling the Basement of the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple
Portions of the basement foundation for the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple have been backfilled with dirt. The concrete for the main level floor has been poured, and decking is being installed for the second level floor. Structural framing for the third floor is underway among the concrete shafts that will house the temple's stairways and elevators. Provo was the second city in the world to have two temples—the first being South Jordan, where the Jordan River Utah Temple and Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple are located.
Neiafu Tonga Temple Grounds Taking Shape
The grounds of the Neiafu Tonga Temple are taking shape. The white walls of the flowerbeds match the exterior walls of temple, which contrast beautifully with the deep blue roof and golden spire. Local Church members are thrilled to have a temple under construction on their island of Vava'u. They currently attend the Nuku'alofa Tonga Temple, located approximately 190 miles (300 km) to the south on the island of Tongatapu.
Lighting the Lindon Utah Temple Steeples
Exterior lighting tests have begun for the double steeples of the Lindon Utah Temple. At the front of the property, the monument sign has been raised several inches, and the inscribed panels will be installed after painting. The only remaining scaffolding is over the north and south porticos where granite cladding is wrapping up. Construction of the temple reaches its three-year anniversary later this month.
